KPP — JpopRocks

As a media site with the name "JpopRocks" it's obvious that we're all about J-Pop. So it is with heart-pounding joy that despite her busy schedule prepping for her American tour, we got to interview one of today's most recognizable J-Pop icons. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu!!!

JPR:

今回のツアーはお化け屋敷がテーマですね。ステージの見どころを教えてください

Your tour this time around is themed on Japanese haunted houses. Please tell us what to look out for on stage.

KPP:

日本のオバケが登場するので注目してほしいです。日本のオバケはキャラクターが可愛らしいので、海外の方に見てもらえたら嬉しいですね。今回、セットも日本で開催したライブと同じデザインで持っていくので、そこにも注目してほしいです。

I want people to look out for the Japanese obake monsters on stage. The characters of Japanese obake are cute, so I'll be happy for people overseas to see them. We're also taking the same set design around with us that we used in Japan, so look out for that too.

JPR:

新曲「きのみかた」はヒップホップでかわいらしい曲ですが、普段ヒップホップは聞きますか？好きなアーティストがいれば教えてください。

Your new song 'Kimino Mikata' is a cute hip-hop song. Do you normally listen to hip-hop music? And, if so, do you have a favorite artist?

KPP:

リップスライムは高校生のときからよく聞いていて、カラオケでも歌います。

I listen to RIP SLYME a lot. I have since high school. I even sing their songs at karaoke.

JPR:

少し前にケイティ・ペリーと会っているのをSNSで見ました。ケイティ・ペリーのファンだと伺いましたが、彼女のどんな所が好きですか？

I saw online that you met Katy Perry a little while back. I also heard you were a fan. What do you like about her?

KPP:

日本でのライブを見に行きました。見て思ったのですが、やっぱり彼女のパワフルなパフォーマンスと、ブレずに確立されている世界観がすごいとおもいます。

I went to her concert in Japan. What I thought when I saw her was how powerful her performance really was, and how amazing and unshaken the outlook she built was.

JPR:

最近暗い髪色にしたきゃりーさんをよく見かけます。明るい髪色の時と気分は変わりますか？

I've noticed you've been wearing your hair dark a lot recently. Does it make you feel different than when you have a lighter hair color?

KPP:

気分で髪色を変えています。最近リリースした「きみのみかた」が少し大人っぽい曲調だったので、黒くしてみました。今は、ショートボブに髪も切って赤色を入れましたよ。気分で変えています。

I change the color of my hair depending on how I'm feeling. My new release 'Kimino Mikata' is a little more mature, so I tried going black. Right now I have it cut into a short bob and dyed red. It changes with my mood.

JPR:

アメリカに来る時、すごく楽しみにしてる食べ物ってありますか？

When visiting America, is there a food you most look forward to eating?

KPP:

サンフランシスコではいつも朝食が楽しみです。毎回、朝のパンケーキを食べてます。今回も食べると思います。

I always look forward to breakfast in San Francisco. I eat morning pancakes every time. I think I'll eat them this time too.

JPR:
